Veterans Benefits and Aid and Attendance
Veterans and widows of veterans may receive additional tax free income benefits from the VA if they need assistance with their activities of daily living (bathing, walking, eating, toileting, dressing).
The benefit is a Special Monthly Pension called “Aid & Attendance.” This benefit is based on a person’s assets and income. When a person’s income and assets exceed the threshold, we assist clients, through education and estate planning, how they can legally preserve their assets and still qualify for the VA benefit. It is akin to tax planning for the wealthy; however, this is VA Benefits Planning for the heart of America, our middle class heroes.
When approved for Aid & Attendance, the person will receive additional, tax-free monthly income to help pay for the cost of health care.
