The Job
Assist with all aspects of Estate Planning and probate from start to finish;
Preparation of documents with minimal direction from attorney;
Draft legal documents such as powers of attorney, wills, trusts, petitions for court, etc.;
Maintain the calendar, deadlines, and schedule for completing documents and filings with court when appropriate;
Correspond, both verbally and written, with clients, courts; financial institutions, governmental agencies and other parties as assigned to obtain the necessary information;
Answer common questions by email or phone concerning Estate Planning and probate;
Keep specific reports related to client matters;
Attend team meetings prepared to review/discuss status of client matters;
Conduct legal research as assigned and as needed to continue personal growth/knowledge within the position;
Draft other documents as required; and
Assist the Firm with special projects as assigned.
The Basic Qualifications
A college degree and/or a paralegal certificate;
A minimum of 2-years experience as a paralegal is preferred and experience as an Estate Planning paralegal is a plus;
Strong written and verbal communication skills and is comfortable speaking with all types of people;
Strong computer skills are required including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint;
Ability to work in a positive manner with a variety of personnel in a team environment and one on one;
Superior customer service skills and demonstrated willingness to go above and beyond in delivering exceptional service;
Self-starter with ability to work independently;
Highly organized with a strong sense of urgency to get positive results;
Internet and technology literate and comfortable learning new systems; and
Notary public a plus.
This is a full-time position, but we would consider part-time or a flex schedule for someone who can get maximum results with less time.
