The Estate & Asset Protection Law Firm Owner, Shannon Pawley, Highlights Programs That Could Be Helpful In Providing Respite And Care To Family Caregivers.

Estate & Asset Protection Attorney and Owner, Shannon Pawley, honors caregivers during National Family Caregivers month by providing information about a variety of government and local programs and services that can help caregivers bring greater balance into their lives.

DECATUR, GA, November 17, 2021: Shannon Pawley, Owner of The Estate & Asset Protection Law Firm, has posted a new article on the law firm’s website entitled “Services That Can Help Family Caregivers Maintain Life Balance.” Ms. Pawley provides an excerpt from President Biden’s Proclamation for National Family Caregivers Month as well as sources that offer programs that can provide much needed help to these unsung heroes.

Pawley states, “A majority of caregivers in this country are non-professional family members.” She continues, “Providing care for aging parents or other loved ones who cannot care for themselves is time-consuming and exhausting. Caregivers are notoriously deficient in self-care. However,” she adds, “this is a growing problem that must be addressed. Caregivers and their families must maintain life balance for the good of those they care for. Many programs exist to provide various types of assistance from compensation to adult day program services.”

“Since 1997,” Pawley reminds her readers, “November has been designated as National Family Caregivers Month. This year, due to COVID-19 family caregiving has increased exponentially. President Biden made a proclamation at the beginning of the month addressing his concern and dedication to supporting the overwhelming number of caregivers who have stepped up and sacrificed so much this year and will continue to do so in the years ahead.”

Pawley provides a portion of the President’s Proclamation and the link to the entire message.
She goes on to add that, “Over 400 programs provide financial assistance for elder care. Help comes from federal, state, and local governments, the VA, non-profits, private organizations, and as many as 50 other agencies. However, please be forewarned that because of the large number of sources and different and often conflicting qualification rules, determining one’s eligibility can be challenging. There’s a quick questionnaire at this link that will give you a sense of which programs you and your loved one are eligible for: https://www.payingforseniorcare.com/resources/locator_tool

About Shannon M. Pawley, J.D., LL.M

As the owner of The Estate & Asset Protection Law Firm, Shannon M. Pawley and her entire team share a passion which focuses on being able to serve the legal needs of retiring individuals. In our firm, WE BELIEVE that people should not have to lose everything they’ve worked a lifetime to earn and that every person is an individual who deserves respect and the highest quality of life possible, regardless of age or ability. We also believe that privacy and protection are the keys to personal peace. Born and raised in the Tidewater area of Virginia to a tightknit family with strong military service roots, Shannon learned from an early age the value of hard work and the importance of social awareness to ensure you always leave a situation in a better place than how you entered it. In her junior year of high school, Shannon served as U.S. House of Representatives Page during the 101st United States Congressional Session in Washington, D.C. This experience exposed her to numerous new cultures and worldly issues. Walking away from her experience as a U.S. House of Representative Page, Shannon knew that she wanted to pursue legal studies and be able to assist others in obtaining the best results available in difficult situations.

Shannon earned her undergraduate degree at North Carolina Wesleyan College and pursued a law degree from Michigan State University College of Law. After obtaining her law degree and becoming a licensed attorney in Michigan, she continued her educational pursuit by acquiring a LL.M. (Master of Law) in Taxation from Wayne State University. After moving to Georgia in 2018, Shannon obtained her Georgia law license and has enjoyed being able to pursue her desire of ensuring persons are able to age with dignity, grace and independence.
