The Estate & Asset Protection Law Firm Founder, Victoria L Collier, Warns About A Probable Increase In Elder Abuse Due To Conditions Resulting From COVID19.

Estate & Asset Protection Attorney, Victoria Collier paints a picture of how elderly abuse is likely to increase as the COVID19 pandemic continues to create intolerable financial conditions for millions.

DECATUR, GA, May 6, 2020: Victoria L. Collier, founder of The Estate & Asset Protection Law Firm, has posted a new blog on her law firm’s website entitled “Prepare For A Spike In Elder Abuse Caused By Pandemic,” in which Ms. Collier encourages readers to be on the lookout for signs of abuse.

“As circumstances get worse, this is what I see happening,” says Collier. “Family members will move in together, living in tight quarters with differing adult personalities. Because liquor stores are considered ‘essential businesses’, alcohol consumption will continue or increase, and Social Security and pension payments to seniors will be used by the newly-moved-in out-of-work household members.” According to Collier, “This can lead to neglect and malnourishment of the senior population as priorities differ about whether to buy expensive medication or groceries for an expanding family.”
