The Estate & Asset Protection Law Firm Founder, Victoria L Collier On Cryptocurrency

Estate & Asset Protection Attorney, Victoria Collier cautions those who invest in cryptocurrencies to be aware of the activities of cyber criminals and to take every precaution to avoid being robbed either in person or online and to make sure provisions are made for heirs to inherit those digital assets.

DECATUR, GA, January 12, 2018: Victoria L. Collier, founder of The Estate & Asset Protection Law Firm, has posted a new article on her law firm’s website entitled “Avoid Cryptocurrency Criminals Online And In Real Life.” Ms. Collier urges caution and a bit of secrecy for those who invest in cryptocurrencies.

Collier writes, “In the digital world, cryptocurrencies are somewhat like the gold rush days in the early history of this country.” She continues adding, “One had to be very careful about who they told if they found gold. Ill-intentioned people were all to ready to take one’s hard-earned treasure away at gunpoint.” “Cryptocurrencies have gotten the attention of hackers and cyber criminals from around the world,” Collier says, adding, “If you have ventured into this wild world, you must take precautions to protect yourself and your investment.”

According to Collier, “One of the most important protective measures is to make sure you designate someone to inherit your crypto-coins in the event of your death. That means having all of your information to access your wallets written down and in a safe place. And to make sure that information is in a will.”

“However,” says Collier, “there are also more imminent real life concerns. If you advertise that you are interested in either buying or selling cryptocurrencies and someone asks you to meet them in person, don’t take this as a good sign.” She elaborates, “I recently read about two instances where sellers were held at gunpoint. According to the report, “The victim was to meet  with a Bitcoin seller whom he contacted through Craigslist in Crown Heights, Brooklyn. Upon meeting the “seller”, a gun was pointed at him and the “seller” demanded $1,100 worth of Bitcoin to be transferred to his Bitcoin wallet.

Collier states that, “While many people are excited to be invested in crypto-currencies and brag about how much its value is skyrocketing, that kind of talk tends to invite trouble. Select a trusted individual to safeguard your information.”
