The Elder & Disability Law Firm Founder, Victoria L Collier On Long-Term Care Deductions

Certified Elder Care Attorney, Victoria Collier invites readers to spend a little time reviewing insurance policies to ascertain if they have long-term care in order to benefit from increased tax deductions for 2018.

Decatur, GA, November 16, 2017: Victoria L. Collier, founder of The Elder & Disability Law Firm, has posted a new blog on her law firm’s website entitled “Long-Term Care Insurance Could Mean An Increased Tax Deduction.” Ms. Collier knows the subject of taxes is far less interesting than holiday planning, however, she makes an interesting point.

Collier writes, “I realize we are coming into the holiday season and our thoughts may resist being turned toward the 2018 tax season.” She continues adding, “However, the effort could be well worth it since the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) is increasing the amount taxpayers can deduct from their 2018 income as a result of buying long-term care insurance.”

According to Collier, “This is a fine time to review your insurance coverage with your insurance professional to make sure you have long-term care insurance and to see if your premium meets the requirements to be qualified for the tax deduction.”

Collier lists the deductions as reported by the IRS. She also suggest, “Give yourself a gift before the holidays. Make sure you have long-term care insurance. If not, this is a great time to make the leap. Do it for your loved ones as well as the increased tax deduction.”
